Project Description

Sealion Trading & Marine Services Co. successfully completed the anchor replacement operation for MV DAN at Aqaba Port, delivering the project with high standards of safety, precision, and efficiency. Anchor replacement is one of the most technically demanding afloat maintenance operations a vessel can undergo at port. The anchor and chain assembly on a commercial vessel can weigh tens of tonnes, and the operation requires precise coordination between a heavy-lift mobile crane, the vessel's own windlass and anchor handling systems, a fully safety-managed exclusion zone on the berth, and an experienced marine engineering team capable of managing the critical lift sequences safely and without incident. Sealion coordinated and executed the full anchor replacement scope for MV DAN at Aqaba Port — mobilizing a Grove mobile crane capable of handling the anchor and chain weight, establishing a full safety cordon across the quayside with cones, barriers, and site supervision, managing the removal of the old anchor from the hawse pipe using controlled crane lifts, positioning and running the new anchor and chain assembly through the hawse pipe, and verifying the anchor seating and chain run before the operation was signed off and the exclusion zone cleared. The operation photographs clearly show the scale of the project — MV DAN berthed at Aqaba with the Grove mobile crane positioned on the quayside, the full safety cordon in place with multiple Sealion supervisors and technicians in high-visibility gear managing every stage of the lift, and the anchor chain running from the vessel's bow to the crane hook during the critical replacement sequence. The Red Sea and Aqaba port backdrop, combined with the coordinated teamwork visible in every photo, reflects the operational professionalism Sealion brings to every complex port project it undertakes. This project reflects Sealion's expertise in marine services, vessel maintenance, and complex port operations, as well as the company's commitment to delivering reliable and professional solutions to ship owners and operators across the region.
